At Napa Fragrance, formulation is the foundation of every product we create. It guides how each scent is composed, how it performs, and how it becomes part of the atmosphere of your home.

Different formats require different formulas.
Our products begin with carefully selected bases designed for both performance and the home. Our candles are made with 100% soy and coconut wax with organic Napa Valley olive oil; our diffuser oils use a coconut-based carrier; and our hand soap is made with organic jojoba and olive oil.
Across the collection, we formulate without parabens, phthalates, palm or paraffin.
We use both natural and modern perfumery materials.
Our compositions bring together natural fragrance materials and high-quality modern perfumery ingredients, selected for their character, performance, safety and role within the fragrance.
Working with both gives our perfumers a broader palette - allowing for greater complexity, consistency and longevity while offering alternatives to natural materials that may be scarce, difficult to source or impractical to extract.
We select each material for what it contributes to the composition.
Every base is selected for the product it needs to become.
Soy and coconut wax create the foundation of our candles, complemented by organic Napa Valley olive oil. Coconut-based carriers allow our diffusers to release fragrance continuously, while organic jojoba and olive oil enrich our hand soap.
Rather than using the same base across every format, we select materials according to the performance, texture and fragrance delivery each product requires.

Fragrance works in much the same way. Some notes bring brightness, others depth, warmth or texture. Our perfumers balance these elements to create compositions with structure, complexity and character.

Our home fragrance products are developed with those environments in mind—from the continuous presence of a diffuser and the ritual of candlelight to the immediate finishing layer of a room spray.
